Picture of Dr. KaplanDr. Jonathan Kaplan (Ph.D.) is the owner and manager of KAPLAN CONSULTANTS. He is a social scientist and consultant in adult education who has been involved in project and program design, management and evaluation in adult education and vocational training for 30 years. His expertise ranges from instructional design and technology enhanced learning environments to auditing and assessment of private and public sector training and educational systems at an international level. He has taught various university courses including Educational Technology at the University of Avignon and Cognitive Self-Regulation at West Paris University where he obtained his Ph.D. in Education in 2009. He is currently Associate Professor at the Institute of Sciences and Practices of Education and Training (ISPEF) at the University of Lyon.

Jonathan Kaplan's doctoral research was on Self-Direction in Cooperative Learning, namely Study Circles. He has since conducted research on collective self-directed learning in a nationwide French company, e-learning in academic studies, and learning needs of migrant carers in Europe, among others. He is pursuing research on Self- and Co-Regulation (SCoR) of learning and continues to be involved in European projects. Jonathan Kaplan is a researcher at Education Cultures & Policies research lab (EA 4571) as well as an associate researcher at CHArt lab (Cognitions Humaine et Artificielle - Université Paris Nanterre, EA 4004).
